Dension Gateway GWMMI3E iPod car kit

The Dension Gateway MMI3 Enabler tool allows you to activate the factory AMI functions (iPod / USB) which were disabled by default. The Dension Gateway Interface (included in the package) enables you to connect and control conveniently your iPod and / or USB device via the original MMI3 factory ‘Media’ section.

Dension GWMMI3E will enable the vehicle for iPod and USB in the newer Audi vehicles MMI3 with the media input. All 2009> Audi vehicles with the Joy stick or Juke Box have MMI3

Full Integration

Once the device is installed, you can connect your iPod or USB and display it’s content on your vehicle screen. There are no extra boxes to stick on the dashboard, or unsightly cables trailing around the vehicle. The interior of your car looks exactly like it did the day you bought it, it just does a lot more.

Control at your fingertips

Use the Audi MMi rotary controller exactly as you do for communicating with other accessories which are factory fitted. Your USB, iPod or iPhone will understand and respond to in the same way.

Text Information

Using the MMI rotary controller or the steering wheel, the menus of the iPod can be browsed and music selected. You will see information displayed on your radio or information cluster telling you the song details (e.g. Songs, albums, artists etc).

Enabling procedure:

• Turn the ignition ON
• Connect the Gateway MMI3 Enabler tool
• Select the ”Green Menu”
• Set / enable the AMI functions
• Install our device to have iPod and USB connection

Note: Once the Gateway MMI3 Enabler Tool is utilized in that case the Enabler will be registered / dedicated to that vehicle only, which means it cannot be used in any other vehicle.

 How to fit the Denson GWMMI3E Audi MMI 3 Enabler Tool Yourself



Connecting the Dension GWMMI3E:

• Connect the Orange Fakra connector
• Connect the Black Accessory connector
• Turn on the ignition now.
• Once this is all connected then connect in the red and black enable tool to the OBD2 connector.
• This will flash Orange for 5 seconds then turn green. Once this is done do the following:
• Press the Setup and Car button together.
• Neither will light up
• After 3 seconds the Green secret menu will illuminate
• Select Diagnosis
• Select AUX/AMI
• Change the setting to the spec of the vehicle – check the guide for settings.
• Select the new setting and store (It will go Green)
• Lock the car and let sleep for 15 mins. Wait for the blue LED to go out on the Dension Kit)
• Once this is done.
• Connect your iPod or USB and select AMI
• The switch on the comm. Box will switch between USB and iPod if required.
