Professional hand free kits have a number of different installation options available. They include a phone cradle mounted on a non-damage bracket, phone cradle mounted on a leather console for the executive look or there is a Bluetooth option if you prefer to operate the hands free whilst the phone is in your trouser pocket, briefcase or purse. All options involve hardwiring the car kit so that cables are concealed behind the dash to give the professional factory fitted look.
Cradle Mounted Car Kit with Standard Installation:
Hands Free Car kit with the holder. The standard hands free installation work will involve:
- Fitting the central hands free unit and cradle / holder
- Making the necessary connections
- No Holes Bracket (see below)
- Glass Mount Antenna (see below)
- Audio Mute (car stereo permitting)

Bluetooth Hands Free Kit with Installation:
Hands Free Car kit without holder. The Bluetooth hands free installation work will involve:
- Fitting the central hands free unit without cradle / holder
- Making the necessary connections
- Tele-Mute Lead (see below)
 
A tele-mute audio loom will both silence the car audio system when a call is received and also re-direct the incoming caller's voice through the front speakers of the car. When the call is terminated the sound will return through the car audio system.
How does it work?
The tele-mute loom, or audio loom as it is also known, is a simple but effective piece of equipment. Every tele-mute / audio loom is specially designed for each cars year, make & model. There are thousands of various options and we can only select the correct one once we know the year, make and model of your car.
The tele-mute loom / audio loom is a series of wires with plugs at either end; these plugs are different for each year, make and model of your car. In the middle is the main control module, this module is the main part of the loom which controls the whole system.
The engineer will install the lead by connecting this to the back of your stereo. This is then connected to the car kits main junction box, and the stereo loom is then fitted to the tele-mute / audio loom.
Once a call comes in on your new car kit then the tele-mute / audio loom will start to work; firstly it mutes the stereo for you and the call is answered. Your stereo will display 'call' 'mute' or 'phone' depending on what type of stereo you have (some stereo's may display nothing). You can now clearly hear your call through your car stereo speakers. You may notice that the sound comes from the front speakers only; this is exactly how the tele-mute / audio loom is supposed to work. Once you have finished your call the tele-mute / audio loom will then release the mute and your music will be restored. What is the advantage over an additional speaker? One of the advantages with the tele-mute / audio loom is that it increases the quality of the call. When you have a car kit installed and an additional speaker is fitted you will often test the car kit whilst stationary, and usually in a car park. The call is always clear and you are happy with the quality, but if you are in usual car circumstances then you will notice the difference; for example, once you are on a motorway, the noise levels increase around the additional speaker (usually fitted by the floor of the car), this will then result in the call being harder to hear. With a tele-mute / audio loom you will hear the call much more clearly. The reasons for this are; the quality of car stereo speakers is much higher than with the small additional speaker provided; the car stereo speakers are fitted in a position designed for optimum sound and finally you have the call coming from two speakers either side of you. This all results in better call quality.
The other main advantage is you have one less item on show in the car and two more screw holes avoided. So it does make for a cleaner install.
Please be aware that the call quality with the additional speaker is fine, but the tele-mute is a luxury item that just improves the quality altogether.
Will it work with my Stereo?
Most car stereos support this function, but some will require an additional leads.
If you have Satellite Navigation (Sat Nav) and this goes through the car stereo speakers, then you may require an additional extension lead to boot.
If you have amps with your stereo then you may require specially designed tele-mute / audio looms that will work with them.
Is this the only way to mute my stereo?
This is a question that we get asked a lot, and the very name tele-mute / audio loom does suggest the primary function is to mute your stereo. If your stereo has a mute facility, (which most stereos do), then a car kit without the tele-mute loom will still mute your stereo. The main point of a tele-mute / audio loom is that the call quality is increased as the car stereo speakers are used.

No Holes Mounting Bracket
A No Holes Mounting Bracket can be used to attach the cradle of your Hands Free Car Kit to your dashboard. This means that we won't need to drill the interior of your car to mount the cradle, so you won't have any unsightly holes in your dashboard should you ever need to have the car kit removed.
 How does it work?
The Mounting Bracket, or No Holes Bracket, as it is also know, is easily installed.
The No Holes Mounting Bracket is ordered depending or your cars year, make and model. These brackets are to ensure no drilling or damage is done to your dashboard. This helps for future sales of the car, or for if you ever have to remove the car kit. It is always a major advantage to have no damage to your car. We would always recommend having one fitted.
Once we have the correct bracket for your car we then start the process of fitting the bracket, each bracket has been specially designed for each car and has a specially designated place for fitting. Our installers are well experienced in installing these no holes brackets, and full installation instructions are supplied to all our installers.
Parts of the cars interior are removed for fitting this bracket. The bracket will fit in a gap or seam on the cars dashboard. The bracket is secured from under the dashboard. The phones car kit cradle is then attached to the no holes mounting bracket.
Every no holes bracket is specially designed to the highest quality, and will be installed in the best possible position your car has available. What are the advantages of having a mounting bracket?
The Mounting Bracket ensures no drilling needs to be done to your cars interior / dashboard. This means your car receives no damage. This has major advantages if the car kit is ever removed.
The other major advantage is that each No Holes Mounting Bracket has been specially designed for your very car and model. Time and investigation is taken into finding the very best position for the No Holes Mounting Bracket. This is to ensure no parts of the car are blocked and that the phone is in a safe visible position.
Can my car have one? Yes, all makes and models of car that we are so far aware of have a No Holes Mounting Bracket made for them.
Even imported cars have No Holes Mounting Brackets available for them, and if in a rare case if we found a car that did not currently have a No Holes Mounting Bracket made, then a Universal Mounting Bracket can be used.
