Volkswagen Single/Double DIN car stereo upgrade fitting kit (HARDWIRE IGNITION)

Complete fitting kit to install a single or Double DIN aftermarket car stereo head unit in various Volkswagen vehicle models.

This head unit fitting kit includes:

• Radio replacement adapter cable (20-156A)
• Antenna adapter (Part of 20-156A)

PLEASE NOTE: For Double DIN installation the central bar of the fascia needs to be cut out.

Fascia adapter panel (50-172)

Car radio fascia adaptor panel to allow the fitting of an aftermarket single or double DIN car radio upgrade. The fascia adaptor allows the fitting of an aftermarket radio into the dashboard by matching the shape, style and colour of the original radio.

Use the supplied pocket with the fascia adapter to fit a single din radio, or remove the pocket and use the fascia trim only to fit a double din aftermarket head unit. For double din installation the fascia takes a 113mm high cage, this is the size of cages supplied with all major brand head unit manufacturers.

Radio replacement adapter cable (20-156A)

Radio replacement adapter cable for Volkswagen cars with quad-lock connectors at the back of the original radio. This adapter harness adapts from the original quad-lock style connector in the dashboard to a standard aftermarket ISO connector to allow the fitting of an aftermarket radio upgrade. This lead has a loose wire that needs to be connected to an ignition power supply. The original radio in the car is turned on via a CANbus data signal so there is no ignition power supply in the vehicle's original connector.

Antenna adapter (Part of 20-156A)

Male Fakra to Male DIN antenna adapter cable with phantom power supply. This cable adapts from a Farka antenna connection at the back of the cars original radio to a standard aftermarket DIN antenna connection to allow the fitting of an aftermarket radio upgrade. This is an active adapter cable, the loose blue wire connects to the antenna power output from the new radio and diverts the power supply down the core of the antenna cable to turn on the antenna amplifier in the car.
