BMW 3-Series (E46) Complete Double DIN Stereo Upgrade Fitting Kit (NAVIGATION/QUADLOCK)

Complete fitting kit to install a Double DIN head unit and retain use of steering wheel controls in BMW 3-Series (E46) cars with navigation radio and Quadlock Connector.

This Head Unit Fitting Kit Includes:

• Fakra male to female extension (21-028)
• Fakra to DIN antenna adapter (21-106)
• Steering wheel control interface & patch lead (29-628/29-025)
• BMW 3 series (E46) Double DIN fascia (50-951-RHD)

PLEASE NOTE: Modification is required to fit a head unit with a Double DIN chassis. We recommend this is done by a skilled car audio technician!

This kit includes cutting guides and new panels to allow easier modification of the heater box which is needed to fit a full sized Double DIN radio into the dashboard.

Quadlock Extension Cable (10-155)

Quadlock Power and speaker extension cable with Male to female connectors. This cable is for extending the quadlock from the Tuner in the rear boot of the vehicle.

Fakra Male to Female Antenna Extension (21-028)

5 metre male to female Fakra antenna cable extension. With water blue universal Fakra cable. Used to extend the fakra connector when fitted at the rear of a car

Fakra to DIN Antenna Adapter (21-106)

Male Fakra to Male DIN antenna adapter cable. This cable adapts from a Farka antenna connection at the back of the cars original radio to a standard aftermarket DIN antenna connection to allow the fitting of an aftermarket radio upgrade. This is a passive adapter cable, not suitable for cars that need a phantom power supply to turn on the antenna amplifier.

Steering Wheel Control Interface (29-628)

Steering wheel control interface and adapter cable for vehicles a quadlock connector. The cable adapts from the Quadlock connector in the car to standard ISO aftermarket ISO connectors. This replaces the need for a separate ISO radio replacement adapter cable. This interface will allow the original audio control buttons on the steering wheel to work with the new aftermarket radio.

Universal SWC Patch Lead (29-025)

Universal patch lead to be used with In car Tec 29- series steering wheel control interfaces. This cable plugs into the 29-Series control box and connects to the 3.5mm socket or single wire on the back of the new head-unit. Suitable for Use with Alpine, Clarion, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony, Zenec, Philips, Dynavin and non branded Chinese head units.

BMW 3 Series (E46) Double DIN Fascia Kit (50-951-RHD)

Car radio fascia adaptor panel to allow the fitting of an aftermarket Double DIN car radio upgrade on BMW 3 Series (E46) car models. The fascia adaptor allows the fitting of an aftermarket radio into the dashboard by matching the shape, style and colour of the original radio. This fascia fitting kit includes cutting guides and new panels to allow easier modification of the heater box which is needed to fit a full sized Double DIN radio into the vehicles dashboard.

If fitting a radio with a high level Single DIN chassis (Such as a Sony XAV-AX3250DB) then this kit allows fitting with no heater box modifications needed. If changing an original non-navigation radio, modifications need to be made to the centre console to relocate the heater controls. Suitable for Saloon (sedan), Touring, Convertible, Coupe and Compact (Hatchback) body styles of the BMW E46 3-Series.

Modification to the heater box can be avoided by fitting a radio with a compact/ single DIN rear chassis at the top the radio, such as the SONY XAV-AX3250DB

Below is a picture of an aftermarket head unit upgrade using this fascia kit with the original RHD center console panel modified to fit the climate control module where the upper storage tray was.
