Apple's CarPlay lets you connect an iPhone to your BMW and use iOS apps on the factory dashboard display. Use Apple Maps for navigation, access your iTunes library or send texts via voice command.

And now with iOS 16, you can take advantage of Google Maps and Waze while navigating through the city. You'll be able to use the best features from both apps like getting the quickest rerouting that will save your time (Waze) or using the navigation even if you're offline (Google Maps).

CarPlay functionality is offered from the factory in many of the latest BMWs. Now, you can activate CarPlay in your existing vehicle thanks to our quick and easy USB process *— we'll send you an activation file to save to a USB stick, and you'll only need to plug it into your BMW to unlock CarPlay.

Requires an NBT Evo ID5/ID6 head unit and WiFi antenna.

Will my coding still work if I update my iDrive system?

If your dealer upgrades or resets your iDrive system, the above coding (and any other custom modifications) will most likely be deleted. For USB coding options, it may be possible to reinstall the coding using the same file(s) as you used for initial installation. However, we cannot guarantee that the coding file provided will work again after any factory software upgrade.
