BMW Double DIN Car Stereo fitting kit with Steering controls MANUAL AIR CON

Complete fitting kit to install an aftermarket Double DIN car stereo head unit and retain the original steering wheel controls in a BMW 1-Series 2007 (facelift model) with original Manual climate controls. This kit is designed for 2007 onwards facelift models, earlier pre facelift models do not have space for a Double DIN unit.

This head unit fitting kit includes:

Fakra to DIN antenna adapter cable (21-106)

Male Fakra to Male DIN antenna adapter cable. This cable adapts from a Farka antenna connection at the back of the cars original radio to a standard aftermarket DIN antenna connection to allow the fitting of an aftermarket radio upgrade. This is a passive adapter cable, not suitable for cars that need a phantom power supply to turn on the antenna amplifier.

Steering wheel control interface (49-BMW-01)

Steering wheel control interface and adapter cable for various BMW and Mini cars to fit an aftermarket radio upgrade. The cable adapts from the Quad-lock connector in the car to standard ISO aftermarket ISO connectors. This replaces the need for a separate ISO radio replacement adapter cable. The CANbus steering wheel control interface is built in to the adapter cable for a plug and play installation. This interface will allow the original audio control buttons on the steering wheel to work with the new aftermarket radio. The interface will work the volume, track skip, source and phone buttons. The CANbus interface will also provide CANbus key present ignition, illumination, speed pulse, reverse gear and handbrake outputs. A key present ignition means the stereo will turn on with the first click of the key and stay on until the key is removed from the ignition barrel.

Some BMW cars go into Eco mode and the +12V supply to the radio drops causing the memory of the new radio to be lost, these cars will need a power supply directly from the battery to be supplied. A universal patch lead is supplied in the kit, this is to pair the steering control interface to the steering control input of Alpine, Clarion, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer and Sony head units.

BMW 1-Series (Manual air con) Double DIN fascia (50-883)

This fascia adapter allows the fitting of an aftermarket radio into the cars dashboard by matching the shape, style, size and colour of the original OEM factory fitted radio. A complete new metal cage kit is supplied which will replace the metal cage which is normally supplied with the new head-unit. The kit includes a switch relocating panel for cars with switch panel underneath the climate controls. There is a blank plate for cars that do not have the switch panel. Fits BMW 1 series (E87) 03/2007 Facelift car models with manual climate controls and without original navigation and iDrive system

• Only suitable for car models with manual climate controls and without original navigation and iDrive system
• Some cars with start/stop technology may require an additional voltage stabiliser to prevent the radio turning off when the engine restarts.
• This kit is for 2007 onward facelift models, earlier pre facelift models do not have space for a double din unit.
