Folding Electric Exterior Door Mirrors - VW Golf 8 CD

Genuine retrofit electrically operated folding door mirrors for the Volkswagen Golf 8 CD.  Avoid costly repairs to damaged door mirrors caused by other road users and pedestrians, whilst the car is parked on the road on or in car parking spaces. The mirrors can be folded using the adjustment controls on the Driver's door or via the menu on the infotainment system, this option will fold the mirrors when the vehicle is exited and locked.

Note:

• The lower parts of the outside mirrors are black, the painted mirror caps as well as lenses are not included in the kit and need to be transferred from the original door mirror modules.
• **  Before using the dongle, the vehicle must be unlocked (SFD) by the VW dealership or at our workshop.
• Compatibility of the door control units must be checked, there are 2 different hardware versions of the door control units (Lowline "3" - Highline "5"). Highline is required for "hinged mirrors"
  • To determine if you have the right door control units, the part number must be read out by diagnostics
  • Example part number: XX0 959? 9X + index letter such as A, B, C
  • The digit representing the ? "Question mark" is crucial
    • ? = 3 = NOT compatible - door control unit must be replaced - see Door Control Parts Highline - VW Golf 8 CD
    • ? = 5 = compatible - door control unit must not be replaced
  • e.g.: 5Q0959593X / 5Q059592X are suitable, 5Q0959393X / 5Q059392X need to be replaced

Any Coding performed on the vehicle, to enable retrofitted add-ons, will be lost after any Dealership/Factory updates.  To re-enable the retrofit, Coding will need to be carried out again.  Contact us for pricing.

What can the dongle not do?

• Delete errors memory entries
• Basic settings of control units (e.g. headlights, camera, tailgate)

The basic settings of the control parts are described in the respective installation instructions. This only needs to be adjusted once after the control unit has been commissioned. It will not be reset during the possible SVM adjustment.
