Retrofit Car Stereo Installation- Porsche Steering Wheel Control Interface

Steering wheel control interface and adapter cable for Porsche 911, Boxster, Cayman and Cayenne cars to fit an aftermarket radio upgrade.

The cable adapts from the Porsche ISO connectors in the car to standard aftermarket ISO connectors. This replaces the need for a separate ISO radio replacement adapter cable.

The CANbus steering wheel control interface is built in to the adapter cable for a plug and play installation.

This interface will allow the original audio control buttons on the steering wheel to work with the new aftermarket radio. The interface will work the volume, track skip, source, mute and telephone buttons. Note; the operation of these buttons can de dependent on the vehicle spec and radio compatibility.

The CANbus interface will also provide key present ignition, illumination, reverse gear, handbrake and speed pulse outputs. A key present ignition means the stereo will turn on with the first click of the key and stay on until the key is removed from the ignition barrel.

This interface needs to be used with a 49- series patch lead (see Recommended Add Ons above). This links the steering control interface to the steering wheel control input on the back of the new stereo.

NOTE: This interface will work with cars with and without the Bose audio system, however, cars with Bose audio systems will require additional amplifier adapters or the the amplifier may need to be bypassed.
