Land Rover car stereo upgrade fitting kit (Standard Audio)

Complete fitting kit to install a Double DIN aftermarket car stereo head unit and retain use of the original steering wheel controls in select Land Rover Freelander II (L359) (2006-2014) car models with standard factory radio and standard audio systems.

This complete stereo upgrade fitting kit includes:

• Antenna adapter with bullet connection (21-123K)
• Steering control interface (29-658)
• Universal SWC patch lead (29-025)
• Double DIN fascia and fitting cage (50-853)

Antenna adapter with bullet connection (21-123K)

This cable converts the original antenna connector in the car, known as a Fakra connector, to a standard aftermarket antenna connector, known as a DIN connector.The adapter cable has a built in module which provides a phantom power feed to the original antenna in the car. A phantom power feed is a 12v power supply that is sent up the centre wire of the antenna cable, this powers the amplifier built into the original antenna. The antenna adapter cable has a loose wire which needs to be connected to the 12v antenna power output of the new aftermarket stereo.The phantom power feed terminates in a male bullet connector to make the phantom power lead easier to connect to ISO cables and steering wheel control interfaces with a female bullet connection for the electric antenna turn on.

Steering control interface (29-658)

Car Audio Steering wheel interface and ISO cables allowing use of original buttons with a new aftermarket head-unit. This interface will retain the use of the standard steering wheel audio controls (volume, seek, source and mute) with an aftermarket head unit. Suitable for Landrover Freelander II (L359) (2006-2014) car models with standard factory radio and standard audio systems without top screen navigation.

Compatibility notes:

• For vehicles with standard audio, top screen navigation and factory parking sensors please use a different fitting kit, part number FK-853-4
• For vehicles with standard audio systems and to retain the navigation screen on top of the dashboard please use a different steering wheel control interface, part number 29-713
• For vehicles with factory fitted Alpine amplified systems you will need to bypass the amplifier located in the drivers side rear quarter panel or under the driver's seat and use a different fitting kit, part number FK-853-5

Installation notes

• Connect male ISO(S) of the steering wheel control interface to the female ISO(S) of the aftermarket radio lead/head unit
• Loose Red wire - Connect loose Red wire to the 12V Ignition in the vehicle 
• Loose blue wire (Antenna turn-on) - This needs to be connected to the antenna turn on cable on the antenna adapter cable (21-123K)

Universal SWC patch lead (29-025)

Universal patch lead to be used with In car Tec 29- series steering wheel control interfaces. This cable plugs into the ICT control box and connects to the 3.5mm socket or single wire on the back of the new head-unit. This item has loose wires and leads so it can be configured to suit the brand of radio being fitted.

Double DIN fascia and fitting cage (50-853)

Car radio fascia adaptor panel to allow the fitting of an aftermarket Double Din car radio upgrade. The fascia adaptor allows the fitting of an aftermarket radio into the dashboard by matching the shape, style and colour of the original radio. This fascia is supplied with a fitting cage so no additional fitting cage is required. The fascia adapter will give a flush mount and professional appearance to the installation. The fascia is designed to fit various Landrover cars.
